Why cursive?

Why do I create tools for teaching cursive?

Because there are not enough good quality tools for teaching cursive yet.

In fact, since I've started creating materials and (later) tools for teaching cursive, I've started to notice how poor the quality is of most of what is available on the Internet.

So the simple answer is: I create tools because I can. Because I can do better.

So do I think everybody should learn cursive?

My thoughts on the importance of learning cursive would take rather a longer time to explain than I'm willing to do right now. It's hard to form an opinion on the merits of cursive versus manuscript primarily because there is so much variation in how students write manuscript!

For now, let's just say I think cursive is a desirable difficulty that is best undertaken under the guidance of a well-equipped teacher.
